Belgian Waffle cherry sauce

Ingredients :

4 eggs
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. sugar
2 c. milk
1/2 c. melted butter
1/2 tsp. salt

Beat egg yolks in a bowl. Add the milk, melted butter and vanilla sugar.
Combine and sift remaining dry ingredients into mixture and beat until well incorporated.

In a large bowl beat egg whites until stiff peak form and carefully fold into batter.
Heat your Belgian waffle maker, bake and serve with Cherry Sauce.

CHERRY SAUCE:

1/4 c. fine sugar
2 tsp. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 c. lemon juice
2 c. pitted and halved fresh sweet cherries
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
